The Average Monthly Wage Climbed to NT$56,434 in First Quarter.
The DGBAS official indicated that Taiwan’s salaries improved for the first quarter because of high year-end bonuses. The average monthly wage (including variable bonus) climbed to NT$56,434 (US$1,945), an all-time record. However, the average monthly wage (excluding variable bonus) is NT$36479. After adjustment of 1.28 percent for inflation, first quarter real salary growth was 0.12 percent.
