Employers Should Take the Adduce Evidence Responsibility of Workers Occupational Accident
On June 2, Executive Yuan has passed an amendment for the Occupational Accidents Act. The amendment requires that employers bear responsibility regarding any occupational accident. Employers must provide evidence to prove that they had tried their best in preventing the accident. If they fail to do so, they must provide compensation to the employee.
Furthermore, if employers do not provide insurance for foreign workers as required by the Labor Standards Act, employers will be subject to fines ranging from NT$60,000 to NT$300,000.
