Regulations on the Employment of Foreign Workers Are Going to Loosen up.
In order to boost Taiwan’s international competitiveness, and combat the brain drain to countries which offer higher salaries such as Hong Kong, Japan, and China.
Attracting skilled professionals from abroad to Taiwan will be reviewed at a Taiwan Cabinet meeting recently. There was high consensus on the relaxation of working policy for International students and overseas Chinese students who study at Taiwan. The proposals include exemption of two-year working experience demand and cutting the basic salary criterion. As for white-collar overseas professionals, government is going to provide more favorable tax rates for them.
