The Enterprises Should Pay the Salary for Family Care Leave of Seven Days a Year In the Future.
The Council of Labor Affairs passed the amendment of family caring issue. Workers can get paid for up to seven days to take care of their children if the government announces the closure of schools but not offices due to typhoons. It is expected to be effective by Jan. 2012 if it processes well.

At present, the family care leave is counted as personal leave and can be taken for up to seven days a year, but without pay. Once the revisions of Article 20 of the Gender Equality in Employment Act become effective, it will allow workers get paid leaves to care for their children who are under 12 years old when the suddenly-happened natural disaster makes the school closed.
