Taiwan Salary Structure - 2013
Salary Structure in Taiwan varies with different industries, firm size, and candidate’s criterion including age, academic degree, language proficiency, and work experience. MGR conducted specialized salary report on the basis of our candidate sample and we present you with a concise table stating package ranges, under several job titles in different industries, for both local and foreign enterprises respectively.

The figures listed above are personal salary income per year, exclusive of stock gains. High-tech companies in Taiwan, however, offer stock bonus, employee stock option, etc according to the yearly performance, which tend to fluctuate dramatically, therefore, we drop the part from our investigation.

Background
Terminology and definition:
A.Local ── Companies with local investor holding more than 50% of the share stake.
B.Foreign ── Companies with foreign investor holding more than 50% of the share stake.
C.Package ── Personal yearly total salary income
  • Inclusive of monthly pay for 12 months, allowance, commission, prize, bonus, achievement reward, Sales performance bonus.
  • Exclusive of stock gains
D.Package range: The first quartile of the sample is designated as the lower bound.
The third quartile of the sample is designated as the upper bound.
*First quartile ── 25% of the sorted sample data are smaller than this value
*Third quartile ── 75% of the sorted sample data are smaller than this value.
E.Average package:Sum of total sample package divided by sample number.
F.Average age:Sample mean age.
G.Supervisor ─ 4~6-years of seniority, directly under department manager.
 Manager ─ 5~10-years of seniority, directly under general manager or assistant manager.
 Director ─ Seniority up to 10 years, directly under general manager.
 VP ─Seniority up to 15 years, directly under general manager.
H.Consumer Industry ─ exclusive of high-tech consumer commodities of Electronics, Engineering, Communication, etc as well as Food, Credit Card, Insurance, Transportation.
Hi-Tech Industry ─ including industries like IC Design, Semiconductor, Electronic Packing and Testing, Electronics, Communication, Internet, IT, PC Peripheral, etc.
