Unemployment Rate Decreased 0.28% in April
The DGBAS (Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics of Executive Yuan) announced the unemployment rate of April is 5.39%, 0.28% lower than that of March. The 0.28% decrease is the biggest monthly decrease in the past 15 years, and the unemployment rate has continuously decreased for 8 months.
In April, the middle-age (45-64 years old) unemployment is 129,000 persons, 10,000 less than in March; the long-term (more than 1 year) unemployment is 114,000 persons, 1,000 less than in March.
