CLA Asked to Expand Dispatch Limits
The Council of Labor Affairs (CLA) is working on a proposal to revise the Labor Standards Law to put restrictions on the manpower dispatching system, a form of contract hiring that is becoming increasingly popular in Taiwan.

The proposed revisions seek to block some high-risk or highly specialized businesses from hiring dispatched workers and the latest version has singled out six sectors for the dispatching ban: health care, security, aviation, navigation, public transportation drivers, and mining. However, labor groups are demanding the CLA expand the ban to cover all government offices, manufacturing and food businesses.
